Haleakala Crater, the awe inspiring volcano that creates the east side of the island of Maui, is seen in all it’s glory from the upstairs lanai of the cottage. The Haleakala National Park is a short, magnificent 50 minute drive from the cottage. Unforgettable hiking adventures inside the crater and on the flanks await your discovery. Full day hikes through the moonscape of the crater or short strolls through the forest, up to you. |

Great Maui horseback riding is less than five minutes away on Piiholo Ranch, one of the most unspoiled ranch and forest lands upcountry, on Maui's Mount Haleakala. Ride with the pros, some the most knowledgeable horse folks upcountry Maui has to offer. World renowned Maui windsurfing at Ho’okipa Beach park and Kanaha Beach park are 12 minutes away. Equipment rental and lessons are readily available. We also supply beach towels, mats, coolers, and blue ice for your ocean adventures. Makawao town is home to Maui's Rodeo, has great dining, world famous cream puffs, a great steak house, excellent sushi, fun shopping and wonderful galleries so everyone can enjoy. Experience championship golf on the slopes of Haleakala at the
Pukalani Country Club. It boasts an 18 hole course nestled in the lush, rolling
hillsides of upcountry Maui. The Kipa cottage offers 1 bedroom and sleeping loft, 1 and ½ baths, and a full kitchen. The bedroom offers full beds in both rooms. Relax at the end of your day in the antique claw foot bath tub. A stack washer/dryer is available for our guests. Open beam ceiling and locally grown cypress plank flooring create a warm and comfortable ambiance to enjoy. We offer our guests a small library of local Maui history and adventures. Your hostess is a certified Maui guide with many years of Hawaii exploration experience. We accept families, max five, and two couples. We ask for your consideration in taking care of our guest cottage. No loud parties. Parking is provided on site for two cars. We accept visa and MasterCard and require 1/2 for deposit, balance due upon arrival, no refunds upon arrival, one month cancellation policy.
