A Historic Bit of Old HawaiiWithin walking distance from the heart of this charming town is the treasure at the end of the rainbow: The Hale Ho'okipa Inn Bed and Breakfast, a gracious plantation home built in 1924, is now a conveniently located historic guest house on a residential cul-de-sac in Makawao Town. This craftsman's style home is reminiscent of a bygone era with high ceilings, wooden floors, and two separate wings. The interior is invitingly warm, rich in color, local art, and antique furnishings. The grounds of Hale Ho'okipa Inn Bed and Breakfast are a feast of organically grown tropical fruits, dazzling flowers, and old trees. The lanai offers a view of a truly awe-inspiring majestic Norfolk Pine tree. Upcountry Maui is as colorful as the double rainbows overhead. Rodeos, art and gift galleries, natural health spas and fine apparel grace the historic storefronts of Makawao, Hawaii. From local plate lunch and international dining to famous bakery cream puffs, and sushi bar, restaurants and after hours entertainment are abundant in this quaint community. "The Ranch was a huge success. Our guide, Beth was wonderful and she gave us lots of historical info on the ranch. Peter is a very likeable and friendly cowboy, proud of his horses and lifestyle. Nice welcoming, breath taking scenery and yummy lunch. We had a blast! The kids are making plans to buy a horse."— Guests of the Hale Ho'okipa Inn Please ask about spa treatments close to the inn, a relaxing experience with quality products.
When calling the inn from the mainland, please note that Hawaii is behind by at least two hours from the West Coast, and more from the East Coast.
